The TOL/100L/150L/200L receiver is what smooths delivery: the larger the tank, the less the motor cycles and the steadier the pressure at the tool. Match the compressor to the air consumption of the tools it will feed rather than to tank size alone, particularly for spray work, which draws continuously.
