The EM-8905B is a digital multimeter specified by its display count. Count is the measure of resolution: it describes how many increments the meter can show before it has to change range, so a higher count reads finer detail without you switching ranges to chase it.
That resolution is what separates a meter used for genuine diagnosis from one used only to check whether something is live. Small voltage drops across a corroded joint, slight resistance changes in a sensor, gradual battery decline under load: these show up on a higher-count display and disappear on a coarse one.
